On my good days I’m a Pharisee (a poem)

On my good days I’m a Pharisee,
avoiding breaking laws
but on my bad days I’m a prostitute
I’m clinging to my flaws

I can never believe You’re as good as You say
and You can never let me down,
I’m a slave to sin and grace the same;
I’m a corpse wearing a crown

On my good days I’m a Pharisee
I want to do your job for you,
but you say to me tetelestai,
it’s finished, nothing left to do.
