On my good days I’m a Pharisee,
avoiding breaking laws
but on my bad days I’m a prostitute
I’m clinging to my flaws
I can never believe You’re as good as You say
and You can never let me down,
I’m a slave to sin and grace the same;
I’m a corpse wearing a crown
On my good days I’m a Pharisee
I want to do your job for you,
but you say to me tetelestai,
it’s finished, nothing left to do.

Insightful as usual. The work of Jesus on our behalf is so complete you are now a royal son of God, in the family, and a friend of God. You are “complete in Christ who is the head of all rule and authority.” The world is a dangerous place down here.
I love this, I feel this, and your words resonate well. Didn’t know you wrote poetry, I’ve been subscribed to your blog for awhile and forgot among life and other things to check in to your posts’ now and then. I’m glad I have come back, this was a great read!
