Baby Steps

Well I’ve been taking death too lightly
and you’ve been treating marriage the same.
Without any blood, there’s no covenant,
I forgot how to number my days.
Cause we all poked holes in the ozone
but no one ever thought they’d be caught.
We all forgot what a day costs,
and no one ever fires the first shot.
I’m learning to live by dying,
trying to take up my cross.
But everyday is a punishment
If everyone else is still lost.
